SPIRITUAL MEAL PLAN

So, a day before I started preparing for this teaching, I asked my partner to prepare a meal plan for me. You see, my stomach has started coming out (I promise, it started coming out on its own accord), and I needed to change my diet to tackle the pot belly.

Having a meal plan is very necessary for me to get back in shape.

I realised there was a problem (potbelly), I discovered a solution (eating right), then I set about fixing the problem (meal plan).

“If you wanted to build a building, you would first sit down and decide how much it would cost. You must see if you have enough money to finish the job. If you don’t do that, you might begin the work, but you would not be able to finish. And if you could not finish it, everyone would laugh at you. They would say, ‘This man began to build, but he was not able to finish.’ Luke 14:28-30 ERV

If you want to build a tower, what do you do? You sit down and decide how much it will cost; how many bags of cement? how many litres of water do you need? which architectural firm will handle it? how many loads of gravel? etc.

If you don't make these plans, you won't be able to finish it, eventually making yourself a subject of ridicule

If you want to lose or gain weight, you need a meal plan, even before you hit the gym. Questions like; what do I eat in the morning? how many calories of food do I have for breakfast? What kinds of food do I stay away from? Will I continue to eat Amala at night? etc, would come up.

These questions are important as you draw out your meal plan. Once the meal plan is set, you follow it strictly to get the desired results.

This principle is also applicable to our spiritual life

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Matthew 4:4 NIV - Man shall not live by bread alone, he will also live by every word that comes from the mouth of God.

Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, 1 Peter 2:2 NIV - Crave spiritual milk and nourish your soul, so you can grow

In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil. Hebrews 5:12-14 NIV - You start from taking milk, then you grow to take solid food, food meant for adults.

Now, these Scriptures aren't referring to swallow or Peak milk and the likes. These are not physical foods, rather, these are foods that you feed your spirit man. That you have glowing skin or shiny white teeth does not mean you are a giant in the spirit. As you nourish yourself physically, you must nourish yourself spiritually.

If you are not particular about what you eat physically, you either starve, get deformed (kwashiorkor and the likes), get obese, or might even die. The same thing happens to your spirit if you are not particular about what you eat spiritually. If you are not nourished properly spiritually, the effects are also the same. You wouldn't want to starve or die spiritually.

The thing is, one way or the other, your spirit is being fed. Whether you like it or not, your spirit is being fed. A spiritual meal plan helps you to feed your spirit appropriately.

I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Psalm 119:11. If you don't hide the word of God in your heart, something else will occupy it, and that thing will make you sin. There is no vacuum in the spirit.

Remember the story of that person that was healed of a demon? The demon went about then came back and found it empty. He went and brought more wicked demons to occupy that person's life. You must be deliberate about feeding your spirit. You cannot allow yourself to starve spiritually. If you don't feed it what you are supposed to, something else will feed it and the results will not be pretty.

Having a spiritual meal plan is the first step to nourishing your inner man and growing in the spirit. You want to add muscles or lose fat, you sit down and plan your diet. You don't just eat everything you see. With time, the results are evident. The same applies to your spirit.

Do you have a spiritual meal plan?

“Then the Lord said to me, “Write my answer plainly on tablets, so that a runner can carry the correct message to others.” Habakkuk 2:2 NLT

Write it plainly on tablets.

Then the runner will carry the correct message.

I like NASB's version:

Then the Lord answered me and said,

“Write down the vision

And inscribe it clearly on tablets,

So that one who reads it may run

1. Write it down

2. Make it clear and easily understandable, make it simple

3. Then he who reads it may take action

That is the formula for our spiritual growth

1. Write down where you want to be with God; your spiritual goal

2. Also write down how you want to get there. What do you need to do? How many calories will take you to your goal? How often do you have to drink water? etc

3. Take action

4. Growth

We pray every evening on this group and you gladly join. But for some of us, if there is no corporate Zoom prayer, we are not praying for that day. NSPPD, Next Level Prayers, Word Alive daily prayers are superb, but do you have your own prayer time?

If there is no network to connect to these prayers, do you have time to pray on your own? Do you have a personal Bible study time?

Do you have moments where it is just you and God? We share daily on this group, you read and you are okay for the day. What happens when no one shares? Unknowingly, we have outsourced our spiritual growth. It will not benefit you in the long run.

“When he came to the village of Nazareth, his boyhood home, he went as usual to the synagogue on the Sabbath and stood up to read the Scriptures.” Luke 4:16 NLT

He went as usual to the synagogue. That was his usual practice. That means that at a particular time and place, you will catch Jesus at the synagogue.

Daniel always prayed to God three times every day. Three times every day, he bowed down on his knees to pray and praise God. Even though Daniel heard about the new law, he still went to his house to pray. He went up to the upper room of his house and opened the windows that faced toward Jerusalem. Then Daniel bowed down on his knees and prayed just as he always had done. Daniel 6:10 ERV

Daniel always prayed to God three times every day. Everyday. Whether he was happy, sad, under pressure, busy, not busy, when the enemies are on his neck, when his enemies are happy with him, when the king is happy, when the king is not happy, in snow, winter and summer, Daniel stuck to his meal plan of praying three times a day.

“Paul and Silas then traveled through the towns of Amphipolis and Apollonia and came to Thessalonica, where there was a Jewish synagogue.” Acts of the Apostles 17:1 NLT

Verse two says, As was his custom, Paul went into the synagogue, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures, As was his custom!!

“But Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness for prayer.” Luke 5:16 NLT

Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness for prayer. Na normal thing for Jesus.

These are examples of having meal plans and sticking to it. Having a spiritual meal plan helps you to plan, to focus, to be consistent. Don't plan it in your head. Write it down, set alarms, find space, create space

Your spiritual growth is VERY important. You cannot treat it with levity.

As your physical meal plan contains what you should and should not eat, there are some important elements that should be present in your spiritual meal plan.

1. Hearing the Word of God.

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17

You must create time to hear the word of God. From the church, on Word Alive, in your other Christian groups, on YouTube, on the radio, as you drive, as you walk, etc. Make sure you include hearing God's word in your plan.

2. Reading and studying God's word

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2Timothy3:16-17

In your meal plan, include time to read and study. Know God for yourself. Learn from the Bereans, study the scriptures for yourself. Create time for it. Set an alarm. A verse today, a chapter tomorrow, a whole book next week; be consistent with Bible study.

3. Meditation and Memorisation

I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Psalm 119:11 NIV

Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Joshua 1:8 NIV

As you set up your spiritual meal plan, factor in time to meditate on the Scriptures. Think about it, murmur it. Do not assume you will find the time. Create time for it.

Remember, your spirit is being fed one way on the other. If you are not deliberate about what you feed yourself, something else will fill it, starving you, deforming you and eventually killing you spiritually.

4. Praise and Worship

Ephesians 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; 19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; 20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Heb 13:15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.

To your meal plan, add praise and worship. Create time where you just worship your Father. Do not be an ingrate.

As I mentioned, crafting a spiritual plan helps you in many ways. You want consistency, you want action, a spiritual meal plan helps you with these.

5. All Manners of Prayers

Mark 1:35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. NIV

Luke 5: 16 And he withdrew himself into the wilderness and prayed. KJV

Jude 1:20 20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, KJV

Your meal plan should include prayers. All manner of prayers. Find time to pray.

Yes, you can pray anywhere and anytime. But like Daniel that had times of prayer and Jesus that withdrew to pray in the dark, find a time you withdraw from everything to pray. Find a convenient time. It could be in the morning, evening or night or midnight. Set an alarm. Go to the toilet. Lock up yourself and pray. Let God know that at a particular time, my child will be praying.

6. Thanksgiving

Psalm 95: 1-2 O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. 2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. KJV

1st Thes 5:18 18 In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. KJV

In your spiritual meal plan, thanksgiving should be included. God has been good to you and He will always be good. Create time to give thanks

 7. Sharing

Heb 13:16 And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

You know how good it is to share food and drinks with family and loved ones? As you draft your meal plan, never forget to share. Share what you have learned, share your testimonies, journal your thoughts and inspirations, and preach the Gospel. You will grow. Also, the community you build along the way will help you in your journey.

Now, as a balanced diet contains the appropriate classes of food you need to live a healthy life, so your spiritual meal plan should contain the elements listed above. They are elements of a balanced spiritual diet. As I said earlier, you must be deliberate about your spiritual growth. You leave too much at stake if you take in rubbish. You leave too much at stake if you take in crumbs. You leave too much at stake if you don't take in a balanced diet.

Take out your book now and create your plan.

You don't have to start big of course. You will want to build consistency. It is better to consistent with 20 minutes of daily prayers than praying for 1 hour every other week. Remember, be deliberate. Create time to eat well. Create time for God.

Be consistent. Feed your spirit daily.

There are times you will miss it. Don't relent. Don't give up. Continue the next day

Never stray away from your plan. As you grow deeper and stronger, update the plan. Pray more, study more, share more, worship more...grow!

A balanced spiritual diet is sure to keep your spirit well nourished; it all starts with having a spiritual meal plan. Take out your book, write down the vision (plan), make it plain, break it down, make it simple enough, run after and practice it. Then watch your life turn around.

Contribution from Remi

I want to add that, if you forget and skip a meal in real life, you don't stop eating or decide you won't eat again for the rest of your life. So as believers, our spiritual meal plan should not be thrown out because we missed one meal. You can readjust your meal plan as you go.

You forget to eat today, wake up hungry tomorrow. In fact, there are days I will fight anybody that eats my rice from yesterday (Lol). I want to eat everything together with today's meal.

So as we pray for help, pray for hunger.

Be hungry

Hunger is a reminder that you have to eat.

Also, die hunger for things that do not benefit you.

COME AND DIE

Good day everyone!

We continue on our DISCIPLESHIP SERIES today, and what the Lord will have us talk about tonight is ‘COME AND DIE’.

When the Spirit of the Lord laid this in my heart, I had an inkling of what He meant but in my head, I was searching for a less harsh title for it, just so we are not bringing Ak47 to a water gun fight. But the Holy Spirit insisted ‘Come and die’.

Truthfully, it really is not a water gun fight, this is precisely what Christ bids us to do, Die!

The minute we accept the call to discipleship, we are saying that we are ready to die.

The call of discipleship is a call to put the flesh to death.

What the Holy Spirit made me see is how all of our struggles with being true followers of Jesus stem from things that are meant to be dead still being alive.

“When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's, will save it.”  Mark 8:34-35 NKJV

If we look at the verses before this, what comes first was Jesus asking then who He is and Peter confessing Christ as Messiah. Then just after this, Jesus is asking them to "carry their cross".

Our walk as believers doesn't stop at accepting Christ as savior. We should not be okay with this stage when there is so much more!

“Calling the crowd along with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life because of me and the gospel will save it.” Mark 8:34-35 CSB

See what happened after Jesus called men to Himself, He told everyone to "carry their cross". We may not understand what this means in this context until we read the next statement Christ made:

"For whoever wants to save his life will lose it"

But it is cross He asked me to carry, how did we enter saving life and dying? Because that's exactly what Jesus meant.

Jesus did not stop at Let him deny himself. Self-denial is key o, very important but it is not where we stop. There is something bigger. We must take up our cross and die. We must not try to save ourselves or patch up because in the end we will lose ourselves.

The same way Jesus headed for the cross, His disciples must face the same direction; and I tell you, the road to death is difficult. The road to the cross is very hard.

I tell it to you from experience. There is a martyrdom of one kind or another at almost every phase of our lives. We will have to choose daily to die so that we may live.

Now, nobody can nail anything on the cross if they've not learned self-denial. What you feed every day will not die, it will grow.

There is a reason why Christ said you must first deny yourself. To deny self is not just to deny things:

"Oh! I'm not going to eat like a glutton for the next three days"

"I'm denying myself so I will not masturbate again"

All of these are exercises in futility. You will in fact fail woefully at them.

Self-denial is first submission to Christ!

Because let me tell you, fleshy desires are hard to say no to if you are the one saying no. Our approach is saying ‘Yes’ to Jesus which in turn means I'm saying ‘No’ to my flesh. It is from saying ‘Yes’ first to Jesus daily, that we are able to look the flesh in the eye and say ‘No!’

Note that this doesn't mean we will not say no to the flesh, what it only means is that our approach changes.

A lot of us are trying to say no to the flesh when we've refused to submit to Christ. We ignore the leadings of the spirit and we are tight-chested towards His correction but we want to die to self; waste of effort and energy.

When Paul said "I no longer live but it is Christ who now lives in me", this is it for all of us, and what it will mean is that our decisions are Christ's. We are led just as He was.

“Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” Galatians 5:24 CSB

Now those of us who say we belong to Jesus, those of us who say we are His followers, this is our mark: We put to death our self/flesh; all of its desires and passions.

I will pause here and ask us: What do you desire?

Be truthful to yourself, please.

What are the things you dream about?

What are the things you are passionate about?

Especially the things your heart desires in secret, the ones you have to caution yourself to not desire but you know you already desired it. What are those things? Take your time to write them down. We are going somewhere with that.

Please don't lie to yourself o. Write it all down.

He who comes to God for help must come completely open.

The list is for you and your God so be free and open. For some of us, it is the state of our hearts that need to change: unforgiveness, bitterness, pride, backbiting, drunkenness, hurtful words, gossip, hurtful thoughts of others, etc.

The list is endless o, write it all down.

For some of us, it is that we are not submissive. People think submission is in marriage alone or to just our spiritual heads but even I should submit to you.

All of these things need to die! Death in Zion is not the end of the story, Nah!

It is a necessary part of our journey in Christ. When we think of the cross Christ is asking us to carry, we usually like to assume persecution. Of course, it is included as we share both in His sufferings and glory, but what you are really carrying is yourself; your already judged flesh to the cross, following right behind Jesus.

Guys, the flesh has nothing to offer to us o! It has received its judgment in Genesis 3. It was pronounced dust and asked to return back to that. So why then do we follow the leading of that which is already doom to death/nothingness?

Those who hold on to their lives will lose it.

“Jesus continued to say to all of them, “Any of you who want to be my follower must stop thinking about yourself and what you want. You must be willing to carry the cross that is given to you every day for following me.” Luke 9:23 ERV

You must stop thinking about yourself and what you want because usually what we want is not what God wants. The flesh never desires the things of the spirit.

We must then take up our cross.

In those days, everyone that is to be put to death will carry their own cross and there is no going back after picking the cross. You know exactly where you are headed: death!

I like the way Luke added the everyday/daily part. There are no cheat days.

We will never enjoy the fullness in this life with Christ until we walk towards dying to self and this starts will submission. Surrendering to the leading of God; everyone who follows must be led by something.

If we are still led by the flesh, then we are followers of our flesh. We are followers of Christ if we are led by His spirit, and this is where the work is. Engaging the spirit every time. No, not just for gifts and when we have programs.

Beyond demonstrations of the gifts and power of the spirit; His teachings, His truths, because He is really here to guide us into knowledge of all truth.

He is here to not just show us that this is the right way, He is here to help us follow that right way.

So ask Him for help today. Let Him help you

On the things (fleshy habits) you wrote down. Write this on them: (Put your name) has received the help of the spirit to live above these things. I am alive in the spirit so I am dead to the flesh and these works. I am led by the spirit so my flesh cannot lead me to do these things again.

Have daily conversations with the Holy Spirit on the truth of who you are. There is liberation here.

Again, don't focus so much on what to not do:

20 steps to stop having sex, 100 steps to stop gossiping, etc. Take 200 steps and you are back to fornicating and slandering.

Take your focus off them.

Focus on your spiritual meal plan instead. It is what you feed that will grow. Ignore the flesh and its desires will wane off.

You will also have to deliberately/boldly say No on days the flesh tries to put up a fight.

You will remind it that it is dead and dead things do not dictate to the living!

WHAT NEXT AFTER GETTING PROPHETIC WORDS

One of the major problems believers have is that we don't know how to handle the word of God. We often attend meetings such as this, get prophetic words and then we wait for the words to happen.

Sometimes, they don't then we begin to wonder if we heard well or if God lied or if God changed His mind.

Now, here is the thing: God never lies

So many times, there are things attached to seeing the fulfillment of the words we receive. There are necessary steps we have to take to ensure these words come alive. Prophetic words are a revelation of what is set to happen.  There are definite, concise prophetic words and there are words given to us as keys, whether the door will be open or  locked is left to the holder of the key, that is the man who receives the word.

WHAT NEXT AFTER WE GET WORDS?

1. GIVE thanks over the word

Thank God for revelation.

Thank Him for what He is set to do.

Thank Him for giving you access into what is to happen in the future.

Now, Thanksgiving is not because God will change His mind if you don't thank Him, but I've found that giving thanks strengthens our resolve about the word.

The assurance we have about it is deepened.

It Is harder for the devil to put it to you that you didn't hear well.

When you worship and thank God with all your heart, your heart posture towards the word also changes.

Let me make a sample.

Toye is my friend. He gives me a plate of ewa agoyin. I love ewa agoyin so much so I go back and thank him with all of my heart. He of course accepts my thanks. That ewa agoyin is stamped as mine already. I will not think that maybe I didn't hear Toye well when he gave me. I'm emboldened about my right to the ewa agoyin

2. Read all of the words you got again.

Go through them over and over. Soak them into your subconscious

3. Time for Interpretation

Some words are clear on receiving them. For some words you need interpretation. Who best to give an interpretation of the word than the one who gave it?

“I saw by night, and behold, a man riding on a red horse, and it stood among the myrtle trees in the hollow; and behind him were horses: red, sorrel, and white. Then I said, “My Lord, what are these?” So the angel who talked with me said to me, “I will show you what they are.”” Zechariah 1:8-9 NKJV

See

Zechariah saw a vision and he saw red horse; he did not immediately say ah color red is for danger

A bad thing is about to happen to me 😭😭😭

He did not conclude

What did he do?

He asked the angel

What do these horses mean

You see this asking thing ehn, it saves you from a lot.

Zechariah asked

He didn't jump into conclusions

He asked

So ask!

Ask God!

Ask the person who gave the vision. He will explain it

4. Application of the word

After getting an understanding and interpretation of the word, the next thing is to know how to apply it.

An example of this is the vision gotten for Paul. They had seen a vision that Paul would be imprisoned in Jerusalem. Agabus was a respected prophet. Some other people saw this vision too

Imagine 5 people coming to tell me that they saw that I went to Abuja and was arrested/thrown into prison. It looks like a warning. They may say the application of this is to not go to Abuja. But Paul understood that wasn't the application of that word. It was a knowing ahead. And they were just meant to pray. Not for Paul to be kept out of prison but for God's will to be done even as he enters prison

Application matters.

How do I apply this revelation that I have received?

What do we do after it?

It didn't stop at Joseph knowing a famine was coming, he also knew what to do with that revelation

Steps to take to ensure they were not victims of that prophecy they received

As you pray for interpretation, also pray for application.

Ask what to do and how to do.

5. Seek to know the timing attached to the words.

We got a lot of words at the spiritual pool.

Some are immediate instructions

Some are towards the end of the year.

Some have no time frame.

It's important to know the time frames. There are words that you have to move with immediately

As you go through the words you got on Saturday, spiritually identify and map out the words according to time. Note that not all the words may be time-bound and that is fine. If you don't get any specific time in the spirit, leave it to God.

Then there are some words with very very funny timing.

They annoy me also 😂😂😂

I will give you an example

“Listen, I am coming soon! I will bring rewards with me. I will repay everyone for what they have done. Revelation 22:12

‘Listen, I am coming soon! Great blessings belong to the one who obeys the words of prophecy in this book.’” Revelation 22:7

See

I am coming soon

What year was this told to John? Has He come? 😭

There are words you get and you are waiting for every day

Then it starts pissing you off cos it felt like there was a sense of urgency when you got the word

Why then is the word taking time?

Is God repenting of His word? Whenever I have moments like this, I pause.

I don't discard the word as untrue because of it. Take it back to God

Verse 7 clarifies this very well.

The main message in this is that great blessings belong to those who obey. The message is actually to stay in obedience till He comes.

We may want to focus on Him coming soon (timing). But the message for us in that verse is actually us obeying before He comes

Staying in obedience

He is coming and He wants men to stay in obedience until He comes. Sometimes you may have words that it seems like the timing is looking like now now but after a while, they are not happening. Don't discard those words

Go back to the drawing board. See if you missed the subject of that message. The main instruction it had for you. Then pray to God for interpretation, rinse/repeat the process.

So again,

Go through the words you got

Sort them out based on timing

Categorize them also.

If you have words for marriage, ministry, career, family

Separate them and arrange them in the order of the time frame revealed to you.

The things that will happen first, note them down. The next thing is to go through your list again. Some things may take effect next year but the actions God wants you to take needs to start immediately

This means they will come up on your list

Reorganize

Everything that has immediate action plans, separate and put in a place you can see

Note down the action plans too.

E.g God told me about a book He wants me to write to be released in September

So action plan no 1 is to wake up at 5am daily

Pray and then wait for the spirit to speak to me then start writing.

I will definitely not start writing the book in September.

It has to start now.

The next thing will be to check how long it takes to publish a book if I need a month. It means I must be done with writing and editing in August

This goes to my planning

You see how what God has told me has become my vision board? It has now become my direction. I'm planning based on it.

Get sticky notes. Get "to do" apps if you work better digitally. Align your plans with the words you've received.

If God tells you you are traveling out next year. You will need to make passport plans first. Pray on it and know how you will travel

Is it school?

Permanent residence?

Sometimes God may want to use someone and they come last minute with everything. This is possible too. Just make sure to prayerfully know your part to play in the fulfillment of these prophecies

6. Pray like if you don't pray the word will not come to pass

Pray like a "mad" person

Pray o

Pray

War!

Actually, this is the right word. Go to war with the word. Declare it every day.

Stand on the word. Pray it till it comes to pass. Some words may tarry. Don't stop

As long as God has told you they will come to pass, timing may change for some reasons sometimes but don't stop praying.

7. Have Faith

Believe that what God has spoken to you is true and will come to pass no matter what. Believe, strongly. Get scriptures to substantiate your claim and strengthen your faith. The man who will see must first have believed. Stay in Faith

8. Rest

Don't try to force the word to come to pass

Don't try to "do"

God will keep His words

You've done your part, now rest.

He will do it

He will make it come to pass

A lot will happen as you wait upon the word but you just Rest. Don't let the devil shake you. Don't let the enemy lie to you

You have the word. It is the receipt of that which you've bought with Faith

So rest, you get receipt eh

Baba e ni mo je.

Will earthly fathers give their children stones when they ask for bread?

Temitope

Calm

I just saw water pouring over you softly and I heard ease, rest.

Tell my children,

Doors open

Mountains shift

They will see my hand perform my word

Tell them to declare it daily

Tell them

I am building a nation of intercessors here

I am raising an army

...of men that will wield my power and cause things to happen

The spirit of Elijah!

Tell those who think they are small in the spirit that there is a shuffling,  a rousing of waters that brings them up spiritually.

Tell those who think they are big in the spirit to know they are small, for there is more accessible to them.

There is more

I see a climbing of ladders

Some will leave, bless them

More children come.

Tell them to open their arms to the children that come, to help them steady their feet. Carry all along.

New ranks in the spirit come

Let no one think they are too young

I will assign work to some of them

Tell them to be open

Those who think they stand, tell them to stand well in the spirit lest they fall

Everyone, hold each other's hands!

I have raised you for a work in your time

For such a time as this

Stay connect

Destinies are intertwined

There is so much ahead

In the coming years, I will reveal a new plan

Until then, let everyone feed spiritually and be ready.

Pray together

Pray alone

Pray!

Pray!

Pray!

Help one another

I kept hearing this song:

In the morning, early in the morning. In the morning I will arise and praise the Lord

Tell them to start their days with me.

Timmy, I have put a new hunger in you. You are insatiable.

Cynthia, stay with me.

Tell all of them,

I will bring to pass my word.

They should just stay

They should just stay

I will do it

I said it so I will do it.

I am able to do it

New jobs

Healing

I save and deliver from the snare of the Fowler

You will testify to this

I save from mistakes and their cost

I will do it

There is an outbreak of the spirit coming.

It will come in the place of prayer

Mouths will refuse to shut

Rivers in the belly will gush out endlessly

It will usher in a phase for this family

Wait in the place of prayer, for it will happen there

This is the word of the Lord to us as received at the spiritual pool

God gives us the Grace to enter and walk in them.

For Word Alive

“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater, So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

NEVER WALK ALONE

Our topic for today is Never Walk Alone

One of the major disasters of our generation is people trying to do this God thing alone.

The one who is a disciple of Christ will/should never walk alone

I cannot overemphasize this; there are no lone wolves in the kingdom.

Maybe the church has hurt you before now. Maybe you've been let down by members of the body of Christ but you see in this body, we will have to walk together.

You cannot walk with Christ without His body.

No matter how gifted you are. It doesn't matter how much you are called and the anointing on you, you need the body of Christ to be successfully discipled.

Whatever you try to do alone is unbiblical.

You are misunderstood? You will still have to do this thing with the body of Christ o

The church is an integral part of God's design for discipleship. In fact, you cannot be a disciple and despise the body of Christ. There will be a problem.

Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it. Matthew 16:18 NLT

Though it was Peter Jesus was addressing. It wasn't Peter that will crush the gates of hell

Also, it wasn't Peter that Jesus prayed the gates of hell will not prevail against....It was the church. The body! There is a covering upon the body that you will not find alone.

It is why when men will go astray or backslide, the first thing the devil tries to do is draw them out

He tries to deceive them that they can walk alone. But this is a lie. You cannot walk alone.

You also should be walking with the right people. Walking wrongly is as useless and harmful as walking alone.

If we look at the story of Jesus sending the 70 out,   He did not send anyone alone. None was sent alone. They were sent in pairs. Even God does not do alone. When God was going to create in the beginning, He was accountable to the members of the trinity.

I know it's very easy to want to slip into our spaces, especially when we are going through stuff. Sometimes we even tell ourselves that we will catch up when we are done with that phase but here's what I've found most times: by the time you come out of that phase, you will find that your friends have moved on to a new phase. You feel left out and you just completely step back. You now try to do it on your own but you keep struggling. And before you know it, you stop trying

You are now alone. Maybe with new friends. But you know something is different

It is also why I always ask people "Why are you taking that break"

You don't need a break from eating

You don't need a break from social media

But you need a break from church or the body of Christ......Hmmmm

Are you sure that's not the enemy trying to break you from something? It is even in times of offense and confusion that we need the body the most.

You cannot function fully as a follower/disciple of Christ without God's other children.

Take advantage of your communities. Stop punishing yourself walking alone. Stop delaying destiny

If you are under the sound of my voice/typing right now and you know you've been walking alone for a while now, this is your cue to go back. I sense it so strongly. Go back to your covering. Don't put yourself in harm's way

Go back! I can literally hear a scream in my head. If you don't have a church, please reach out to me

You have to belong to a church. This is not negotiable

Word Alive is not a church. You must be planted in a local church.

And for everyone here but not here

I don't know what to say

But please, don't play yourselves.

If you are here, it is because God led you here

Be part. Do not segregate yourself.

See, if you feel left out. This is your cue to force yourself into circles (I'm not joking)

I sense these things strongly in my spirit. There are dangers ahead. But safety isn in the family God has provided for you

Your church is big? Talk to 2 random people and collect their numbers next Sunday.

Join a unit.

You don't have friends on word Alive? I can categorically tell you that I didn't know up to 10 people on this group in real life when we started. Even right now, the people I knew before we started Word Alive are not up to 20 and we are over 200. So you don't have to know anybody before

For those that felt disconnected and kind of blocked everyone out

This is your reminder that you are actually deeply loved, even in your local church. People may not know how to express it to you properly because of the break in communication, but know that there is love for you.

Please, allow this love in.

God wants to love up on you but He wants to do it through people.

The father's love awaits

Please, open the doors of your hearts.

Please.

For every one of us,

Please stop trying to do life alone

You will fail woefully at it (no jokes)

And you may lose a lot too

Save yourself the stress

Take the father's love

He extends it through men

Take the father's hand,

He extends it through men.

This teaching took another turn but I trust the Lord has a reason for it. My drive-home point was discipleship but I see instead God screaming out His love.

It feels like people have been looking for His love in the wrong places and He says it is right here, in my body.

Just open up and receive it

If you don't have friends in church, I will need you to also promise me you will go out of your way to make at least 2 next week.

And I just declare upon everyone that has tiny bits of church hurt and fear of being hurt by people, it is gone. The Father's love sweeps it all away.

For everyone struggling to open up, I declare that you receive help right now in Jesus name.

This probably sounds like a cliche but I sense someone needs to hear it: Jesus loves you. You are actually really loved by the father. Really really loved by Him

DISCIPLESHIP SERIES 5: ACCOUNTABILITY 2

Today, we continue with our series on Discipleship.

Our last conversation was on Accountability which we will be concluding today

To refresh our memories, can anyone remember our various definitions of Accountability?

“Accountability is having someone you submit to. Not only do you tell them about what you have done/going to do, you also respect/honor them enough to take corrections from them” - Samson

“Accountability is submission to the people or person we have chosen to be accountable to.” - Sumi

Q: WHY IS ACCOUNTABILITY IMPORTANT IN DISCIPLESHIP?

Ans1“This is because discipleship requires consistent training and discipline.” - Sumi

Ans2 “The first disciples were accountable to one another. Timothy had Paul. It is very important to have someone that can tell us the hard truths, encourage us, pray with us and support us. The discipleship journey is a long, hard one. We need all the help we can get.”Samson

Thank you so much for sharing guys. We will continue from where we stopped the last time.

“Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. 1Thess 5:11 KJV

“being subject to one another out of reverence for Christ.”  Ephesians 5:21 AMP

To be subject is to put yourself under another. As I mentioned the last time, there is no accountability without submission. A proud person cannot be accountable.

Accountability requires a certain level of ‘teachability’, openness and humility. If you meet a believer (especially a leader) that does not have up to three people they are accountable to, there is an issue.

People say one person but my personal benchmark is three because sometimes, the counsel of one person can lead astray; especially if they can't talk to you or you withhold from them.

One of the major issues I have seen in the body of Christ is that most of us choose mentors that are outside our reach. Remember I mentioned the mentor-mentee relationship is a good form of accountability? More like the easiest in this clime.

Imagine me saying I'm accountable to Daddy Adeboye but Daddy Adeboye doesn't know my daddy talk more of knowing me 🌚. How does he check me when I'm doing something wrong? How do I reach out to him before I even do anything at all?

The reason so many of us are not accountable to the people we can reach is not because we already have accountability partners, it is largely because we cannot submit.

Again, pride!

Accountability is not being obedient to another human being or them bossing you around; rather, it is a check and balance system that helps you stay on track with God. It helps bring you to greater obedience to Christ. Accountability is targeted at your growth in Christ.

Whoever you've chosen to be accountable to has just one goal in mind, your growth. So sometimes you may not like the process or even the level of invasion but look at the bigger picture: YOUR Growth.

IS ACCOUNTABILITY BIBLICAL?

So I saw a tweet about two years ago where someone said the bible doesn't encourage us to have accountability partners, it is not a scriptural instruction.

First, we've broken down what accountability is to us, now we will move to checking if this is biblical.

“Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty [conceited, self-important, exclusive], but associate with humble people [those with a realistic self-view]. Do not overestimate yourself.” Romans 12:16 AMP

·       PAUL AND TITUS

Titus was accountable to Paul.

Now, here's a catch. Titus and Paul were friends, yet, he was accountable to Paul. He was referred to as a spiritual son a number of times too (this is for you people that frown against men of God or revered men in faith being called daddy, please it is biblical 😁). If you are not humble, you will almost say Paul was too bossy with the way he gave out instructions to Titus.

However, it is way beyond this. Paul was a mentor and spiritual father to him and Titus was accountable to Paul.

Accountability is not possible without submission.

·       PAUL AND TIMOTHY

We see a relationship of accountability between Paul and Timothy also. Paul was responsible for these men, so he sought out their growth and success in ministry.

SO HOW CAN WE MODEL THIS IN OUR CHURCH TODAY?

1. Your local church

This is your first accountability place. You must submit to the leaders in your local church. If you are in a place where you can't submit, please leave. It is important that there is someone watching over you both in prayers and physically.

Now, for churches that are very big and you get lost in the crowd, is accountability possible?

Yes! (For most big churches that I know of)

There are units, departments and cell groups in most churches. This is not just so you are serving or working for the church, it is a discipleship measure too.

If nobody knows you in your church, there is a huge problem and this is me putting in lightly. This is your primary feeding place, it is your storehouse. So it is very important that you are seen by any form of leadership in that congregation and have people watching over you.

How many of us are in church units here?

Please if you don't have a church you attend or call home, send me a private message

I personally am against believers not going to church or having a home. We've not been called to a lonesome journey. And no! Word Alive is not a church. Find a church please.

Except for those that can't attend church yet due to persecution. The rest of us? You have to be planted in a local church.

2. The Holy Spirit (but not limited to)

This probably should have been number 1. The Holy Spirit is our voice of reason. He leads us in this path of righteousness and we should be accountable to Him

He says a thing? Follow.

Note that I said not limited to. If the only person you are accountable to is the Holy Spirit, you are lying to yourself o.

Even Papa Adeboye has people he is accountable to. So yes, be accountable to the spirit. It is a must. But you are not limited to this.

Also, your level of accountability to men stems from here. I can tell if you are a stubborn person to the Holy Spirit from conversations. The way you submit to people is an outflow of your submission to the spirit. If you struggle to submit to people, check this place very well.

3. Parents

This is a major form of accountability but so many of us in this part of the world do not even have good relationships with our parents so this is usually removed. I was almost going to remove this from my list also but the Spirit says to keep it because we will be better parents to our kids.

We will take up the responsibility given to us by God Almighty.

4. Mentor/Mentee Relationships

I think most people do this and it is very advisable. Just make sure your mentor is reachable/accessible to you. Let them also have a sense of responsibility over you. If not, they may not be assertive when you are moving wrongly. The people you are accountable to should not look at your face at all and be ready to tell you the truth even if you will cry after. Of course, they shouldn't do this in a demeaning manner, they should instead do it in the most effective way possible but if it still seems tough, their duty is to convey the message.

5. Friends

This is one form of accountability that is looked down on and that is largely because most of us are not submissive aka we are prideful. It is also the easiest form of accountability and very effective too.

I would likely tell my mentor about the big decisions in my life so I'm not disturbing them. But you see those small decisions? They make up a lot of our life experiences and are equally important. We are most likely to share these tiny decisions with our close friends or people around us.

First, we must surround ourselves with Godly people. Men that fear God and also have an understanding of your purpose. Your friendships should not just be gossips and gist about other people.

Build wholesome friendships.

Get people that will speak over your life and stand with you in fulfilling purpose. Surround yourself with men that will know when you are moving away from purpose and correct you.

“As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.” Proverbs 27:17 NKJV

“Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another.” Ephesians 4:25 NKJV

Surround yourself with people that will speak truth to you, people that will push you towards purpose.

Who are your friends? Ask yourself this please.

I sense some of us will need to reshuffle our friendship lists. It is not just about having good friends now that we can be accountable to. You, can you submit to your friend? Or you are the type that must have the final word in everything?

We know it is your life o, but God has placed people in it to help you.

Submit!

Your friends are likely to also not say anything to you if they notice you don't listen to others.

6. Small groups and cells

This goes beyond prayer groups or bible study.

You know the way Word Alive is, where we are not just praying and sharing scripture together but sharing our lives, we discuss all that we are going through; wins, Ls, burdens, Ideas, Successes, Relationships, name it.

This part of the group is what breeds accountability. This was the vision for Word Alive when we started. Somehow, we've grown in numbers and it's becoming difficult to achieve this because some people are slower than others in easing into the process. But God has given us a mandate on discipleship for this season which we will introduce in the second half of the year.

By God's Grace, we will be having smaller cells to share our lives with. This way, we can keep tab on growth and offer maximum help to ourselves. Everyone can truly belong to the community regardless of temperament and fit in perfectly. I will share with us in due time when this will start.

Also, if you've not been maximizing this family, I am giving you side eye o. Not because I am the head of Word Alive but I tell you, this is a community for you. There is no way you are committed here that you won't grow. I have receipts in human form for this o.

You also are blessed with friends here. I know people that are starting businesses from here, people going into marriages, people with forever friends too that even me as founder cannot come in between.

Don't live in Isolation.

Embrace that which the Lord has provided for you.

If you don't talk to anyone off the group or find it difficult making friends here and you would love to, kindly reach out to me, please.

There is only one goal for all of these activities: Your Growth

But first, you will have to prioritize that growth by making decisions in the right direction.

I will like to quickly add that you shouldn't do anything with anyone in isolation or in secrecy o. I use God to beg you. If anybody ‘cuts eye for you’, please tell me.

If anyone is trying to enter any kind of relationship with you (Business, romantic, friendship), please casually share with me. It is very important. This is to avoid people preying on others

If you also like someone and would love to be with them, kindly reach out to me also. Note that I do not have the power to stop anything o. It is just for accountability's sake, and to avoid stories that will break us up as a family. I am definitely not directly interfering in your personal businesses 😁. But I may happen to know something you don't know, so please I'm begging reach out to me if you ever find yourself in any of these situations.
